Intense, ruby red color. Light touches from the oak aging underscore the cherry and red berry notes that are typical of the Sangiovese grape; tannins are balanced and ripe; the lingering finish is vibrant with a pleasing minerality, which is typical of Chianti Classico and embodies Tuscan style.
Grapes: 90% Sangiovese, other reds 10%. Aging 24 months in oak barrique.
Not just for Italian food...goes great with smoked meats/bbq
My red wine selection was a bit sparse this evening, but I found the Chianti Reserva was excellent with the smoked pastrami we had this evening. The Chianti Reserva really complimented the flavor of the meat. Recommend trying!
