94points Robert Parker: The final blend, 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc, was bottled unfined and unfiltered after 18 months in 100% new oak, with aging on the lees. It boasts a saturated plum/purple color in addition to an exotic bouquet of Asian spices, plum liqueur, prunes, and blackberries. Extremely full-bodied, unctuously-textured, structured, and well-defined, this spectacular achievement will drink well young, yet last for two decades

2019 Chappellet Pritchard Hill Cabernet Sau...
$599.00
99 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Wine Blend : 95% Cabernet Sauvignon 5% Petit Verdot
Wine: The most sought-after wine in our portfolio, this limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon represents the pinnacle of Chappellet winemaking and embodies the elegant power and complexity of Pritchard Hill winegrowing. Like the great Bordeaux wines that first inspired Donn Chappellet, this wine is crafted by blending Cabernet Sauvignon with other classic Bordeaux varietals. The wine was aged for 22 months in 100 percent new French oak. Grown on our rocky, mountainside vineyard, our Cabernets have consistently displayed an ability to age for several decades.
Tasting notes : Embodying the essence of great mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and the majestic terroir or Pritchard Hill, this wine is gloriously opulent and elegant, immediately demanding attention with aromas of violet, black currant, cassis, ripe blackberry, graphite and sweet smoke. As it opens up, fascinating layers of sandalwood and cardamom emerge, as well as hints of vanilla bean, nutmeg, dark chocolate and anise. On the impeccably balanced palate, complex flavors of ripe dark berries and spice dominate, framed by silky, polished tannins that carry the flavors to a long, epic finish.

The Winemaker's Collection Cuvee No. 1 Mich...
$99.00
Red Bordeaux blend. "This special project of the Bordeaux negociant, Bordeaux Millesimes (called Once Upon a Wine), and its proprietor, Dominique Renard, was originally labeled “The Winemakers’ Collection, Episode 1," but the name had to be changed. As I wrote last year, in each vintage, one of the world’s greatest winemakers (Michel Rolland in 2005 and Denis Dubordieu in 2006) is chosen to focus on a single parcel of a given terroir, in this case, Chateau d’Arsac. Five-thousand cases will be produced in 2005, and everything, including viticulture, fermentation, upbringing, and bottling, is being controlled by the chosen winemaker who has full control over the winemaking team, the yields, the choice of fermenters, the style and type of barrels, the time in oak, and the manner in which the wine is bottled. Michel Rolland was fortunate to be chosen in 2005 as this is an exceptional vintage. It boasts classic richness, deep, smoky, black currant and sweet cherry fruit, a gorgeously opulent texture, decent acidity, high but sweet tannin, and a seamless, full-throttle mouthfeel. This stunning effort competes with some of Bordeaux’s finest wines. It should age effortlessly for 15 or more years. Score: 94points." Robert Parker.

1993 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Caber...
$269.00
FREE shipping. Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon is presently in a dormant stage of development. The wine's dark ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of sweet, earthy, blackcurrants, but it then retreats into a shell. Full-bodied, but noticeably tannic, it possesses the extract and fruit to balance out the tannin, but it is currently closed and in need of 1-3 years of cellaring. This is a candidate for 15-20 years of aging. As I have said before, the Cabernet Sauvignons produced at Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyard represent a synthesis in style between the extravagant ripeness so frequently achieved in top California vintages, and the more elegant, restrained style produced in Bordeaux. Recent vintages are all consistently good. Admittedly, I saw the wine immediately after bottling (no fining or filtration take place at Conn Valley), but the wine tasted reticent, although impressive, and possibly meriting an outstanding score.
Food suggestion : Beef and venison.

Château Lascombes Margaux (Grand Cru Classé...
$425.00
FREE shipping. Cabernet sauvignon, merlot , petit verdot(~5%) Chateau Lascombes is a wine estate in the Margaux appellation, it was ranked a second growth in the 1855(!) Bordeaux Classification. The vineyard is situated in the northwest of the appellation, neighboring chateaux Margaux ,La Gurgue and Perriere. It covers 112 hectares (275 acres) in Margaux. The vineyard has three distinct parts of roughly equal size; a gravelly mound on which Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot are planted, a clay-gravel area of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and clay-limestone plots better suited to Merlot. Unusually for Margaux, Merlot accounts for around 50 percent of plantings with Cabernet Sauvignon playing second fiddle along with a small amount of Petit Verdot. Despite this, the grand vin tends to feature around 55 percent Cabernet Sauvignon. Less than 50,000 bottles of Chateau Lascombes Grand Crue are produced per year. Around 20,000 bottles of Haut-Medoc de Lascombes are produced from the vines outside of Margaux. It actually closely resembles the Grand Vin in this vintage with having, obviously, the same power or aging capacity.

2012 Swanson Merlot Napa Valley
$79.00
A cab-lover's Merlot... Merlot has remained at the core Swanson Vineyards’ identity since Clarke Swanson purchased the estate vineyard in 1985. The clay-loam soil in the 75-acre Oakville vineyard and close relationships with several of Napa’s best growers are the most vital factors in our quest to make Napa Valley’s premier Merlot.especially in the world of wine.
Winemaker Notes: Immediately inviting, the nose opens like a summer’s day, ripe fruit, red currant, strawberries and rose petals. On the palate the wine delivers crisp raspberry acidity alongside a succulent and dense mouth feel. Precise tannins give a refreshing lift to this well-structured Merlot. Built to be immediately assessable as well as rewarding medium cellaring (5-7years) this good-natured wine will pair well with a wide variety of foods.- Robin Akhurst, Winemaker
2012 was a near perfect growing season. A mild spring delivered good fruit set followed by a warm summer and fall, allowing perfect ripeness. With no pressure to pick, we were able to let the grapes hang on the vine, to deliver the very best flavors. Thick skins and very little disease pressure gave us clean grapes that required little sorting in the winery.

2013 CADE Estate CABERNET SAUVIGNON NAPA ...
$299.00
FREE SHIPPING. The Cade Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain 2013 is a red wine from Howell Mountain AVA in Napa Valley. This wine is fantastic with aromas of clove, cranberry, raspberry, coffee, cinnamon, black pepper, and coco nibs. Gloriously pure notes of boysenberry, graphite, blackberry, coffee, and dark chocolate soar from the glass and cascade over the palate. The wine is full-bodied, with an opulent, velvety texture, pure, rich with firm tannins and bold structure that is classic Howell Mountain. Blend: 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Malbec, 4% Merlot, 3% PetitVerdot.
Given the opportunity to build the winery from the ground up, Newsom, Getty, and Conover were committed to constructing a state-of-the-art winery that would pay tribute to the land, both aesthetically and ecologically. This commitment would go above and beyond the standard benchmark of environmental responsibility, especially in the world of wine. The end goal, to construct the first CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) organically farmed, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Certified Estate Winery in the Napa Valley. The two-fold commitment initiated in the vineyards with a painstaking program of natural cultivation to convert the vineyards to organic farming practices. “Change is good, green is good, organic is good,” says CADE partner John Conover about the estate’s environmentally proactive approach to winemaking. “We’re doing it because it’s the right thing to do as stewards of the land.”Today, Winemaker Danielle Cyrot continues to craft high elevation cabernet sauvignon that articulates the intense, powerful character of our estate while maintaining a balance of mountain fruit, firm acidity and judicious oak for layered, complex wines that reflect approachability and age ability – this nuanced, artisanal expression that Cade refers to as Modern Howell Mountain.
Pauillac, Bordeaux

$419.00
"One of Pauillac's most consistently brilliant wines”. Fifth Growth. Cinquieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855. 99JS ,94 Wine Spectator"This is the best Pontet-Canet I have ever tasted. Dark ruby-colored, offering berry, raspberry and dark chocolate character. Full-bodied and very fruity, with big, velvety tannins. A glorious red, this goes on and on on the palate, displaying wonderful structure and fruit. Jean-Francois de Pontet, royal governor of the Medoc, combined several vineyard plots in Pauillac in the early 18th century. Years later, his descendants added neighbouring vines in a place named Canet. This was the beginning of one of the largest estates in the Medoc, which quite naturally added the name of its founder to that of the land registry reference

1994 Robert Mondavi Winery Reserve Cabernet...
$339.00
TWinemaker NotesNuances of spice, cedar forest and licorice lead to rich layers of cassis, boysenberry and black cherry which slowly unfold on the palate. The wine is complex with broad, muscular tannins, excellent structure and a long, velvety finish.PressRated 97 Points Robert Parker's Wine AdvocateI had the 1994 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve (97 points) a half-dozen times this year, and it may be the finest Cabernet ever from Mondavi. This has a very different bouquet to the 1996: lighter and minty, more red fruit than black fruit profile, raspberry, bergamot, a touch of leather coming through. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, almost filigree tannins, harmonious, light and more Bordeaux like than other vintages with a little dryness coming through on the ferrous, honey-textured finish. This exudes style and panache. One of the greats of the decade, no doubt.

2003 Vina Almaviva, Puente Alto, Chile
$289.00
Cabernet Sauvignon 73%, Carmenere 24%, Cabernet Franc 3%. Dark crimson. Intense nose and a return of some Bordeaux dry character. Sweet start that is then reined in by savoury tannins and a very convincing structure. Still extremely young but the alcohol is well contained. This should drink well over a long period.Saturated ruby. Explosive, powerful aromas of creme de cassis, blackberry, cherry preserves and smoked meat, complicated further by notes of licorice, an almost iron-like peaty quality and espresso. Broad, dense and lush, the dark fruit qualities repeating with great authority on the palate and showing impressive sweetness but also focus and persistence. This has the length and complexity of a high-end Bordeaux, and a concentration and sweetness that bode well for long-term development. Finishes with thick, harmonious tannins and a lingering note of blackcurrant. As good a wine as I've tasted from Chile to date. Almaviva is a joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild (Chateau Mouton-Rothschild) and Concha y Toro. This wine trades on the Bordeaux market.
