Grapes: 100% Barbera, are selected from single vineyard from 30year old vines from one of the oldest cattle in Alba -Casttle Cavour. Aging in oak barriques for 8 months, and is bottled unfiltered. Ruby purple color with ripe red cherry aromas, black fruit and vanilla. With hints of violets Barbera D'Alba is slightly rounder in structure than the Barbera d'Asti.The palate is full and balanced, it shows bright acidity, soft tannins with good integration of oak, good complexity and a lingering cherry finish. 2 bottles in stock. The Coach Insignia Cabernet represents the pinnacle of our winemaking craft, comprised of the finest selected lots of Bordeaux varietals from our Napa Valley Estate RP(92p): The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach Insignia is a gorgeous, refined wine laced with expressive red fruit, flowers, mint and licorice. The elegant, feminine side of Cabernet comes through, along with a hint of mocha and spice from the presence of 8% Cabernet Franc in the blend. Hints of sweet herbs and licorice reappear on the finish. Today the 2008 looks to be a fairly early-maturing wine, but I don’t think that will be much of an issue based on how delicious it is.

Blend: 81% Cabernet Sauvignon,  10% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc.The opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet blend, displays aromas of bright berries , nutmeg and mocha, Flavors candied cherry, blackberry and underlying mineral notes segue into a rich , round and long finish. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich and concentrated.

It opens with a fragrant dried cranberry and spicy blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth, and really coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a mild black currant with spicy blackberry and blueberry mixed in. There were notes of mild oak noted on the back palate as well. The finish is dry and its building tannins are rather pronounced and linger. intense and elegant flavors of the 2008 Paso Creek Cabernet Sauvignon would be ideal with hearty entree. Winemaker Notes: The fruit for our 2006 Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon comes primarily from mountain-grown fruit in Alexander Valley. With aromas of blackberry syrup, boysenberry, spicy black currant, espresso, and caramel, this wine delights with rich, delicious flavors of Bing cherry, chocolate, toffee, and anise. A delicious mid-palate, excellent depth and showy tannins characterize this lovely Cabernet Sauvignon. Our 2006 Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with roasted, broiled or barbequed heavy game and red meats such as lamb, beef, pork and veal. Medium and strong-flavored cheeses, such as blue cheese or sharp cheddar.

Maturation in new french barriques plays a key role in balancing the tannins while subduing the more youthful of the aromas. Maceration time 28 days.Aged  total 36+ months:  for 12+ months in oak and in barriques for 15 months. Blended together for 4+ months. Matured in bottle at least for 9 months. Vigorous full-bodied wine, which is warm and inviting but not overly alcoholic. Very deep ruby red colour. Intense, persitent and complex smell of fruit. A perfect combination of silky tannins, warmth of alcohol and roundnessof glycerine all enhancing to enjoy hints of spices, dried cherries, chocolate and cranberries. Food coupling: Ideal with game, grilled meats, stews and well mature cheeses. To be served at 18°-20°C it is recommended to open the bottle 2 hours in advance before serving.

Producer The deep roots of Beaulieu Vineyard were first planted back in 1900, when founder Georges de Latour noticed similarities with his native Bordeaux and declared the Napa Valley ideal for winemaking. The Cabernet Sauvignons that de Latour crafted from these grapes gave the world its first taste of California’s promise as a world-class winemaking region.
