Theresa Eccher
Theresa Eccher is a tiny, family-run estate on the northern side of Mount Etna in Solicchiata, sitting 800 meters above sea level on pure volcanic sand and ancient cooled-lava soils. Daniela Conta Eccher and her husband Andrea Panozzo revived the family winemaking tradition in 2013, naming the domaine after Daniela’s grandmother, Theresa. Their daughter, Ginevra, now works alongside them.
These wines are grown in one of the most dramatic terroirs on earth: steep terraces, constant winds from the sea, huge day-night temperature swings, and soils so mineral they’re black. The result is ultra-pure, elegant Nerello wines that taste like Burgundy grown on a volcano.
