2006 Melville Estate Pinot Noir, Sta Rita Hills, USA
VintageDP 2006 Melville Estate Pinot Noir, Sta Rita H... $149.00
The 2006 Melville Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills is a highly-rated wine known for its complexity, rich fruit flavors, and elegant profile. While the vintage is a bit older, reviews suggest it was a successful year for the region, showing smooth tannins and fresh fruit. Specific reviews mention flavors of cherry, plum, and currant, with notes of spice, earth, and eucalyptus, and it's often praised for being both powerful and elegant. 93/100 Robert Parker: "The most impressive Pinot Noir for immediate drinking (but certainly capable of lasting a decade as well) is the 2006 Pinot Noir Melville. Sweet floral notes intermixed with black raspberry, black cherry, damp earth, and roasted herbs are followed by a wine with terrific purity, a layered, full-bodied mouth feel, and sweet tannin (the ripest tannins of any of these Pinots). This wine should drink very well young as well as much older."  "Here's a big, rich, full-bodied and rather extracted wine, made in a powerful style. It shows a gamut of well-ripened cherry, blackberry pie, licorice, grilled wild mushroom and forest floor components, with significant tannins." 15.1% alc.,        Wine Enthusiast 92/100
2004 Sanctuary Bien Nacido Vineyard Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir
VintageDP 2004 Sanctuary Bien Nacido Vineyard Santa M... $139.00
Winemaker Dennis Martin focuses on Blocks N, G and Q from Bien Nacido Vineyard that are planted primarily to the Pommard clone. Aged 15 months in primarily Francois Frèrés oak barrels, 60% new and 40% once-used. · The exotic nose includes cooked cherries, burnt toffee and spice. The flavors remind me of an arugula salad with strawberries and cherries (there is a subtle note of pepper in arugula which is also typical of Pinot Noir from Bien Nacido Vineyard). Lush and voluptuous, but elegant and balanced, this is a complete Pinot of distinction. Impressive debut.  14.3% alc.,        Wine Enthusiast 92/100

2018 Schrader
BKCRCC 2018 Schrader "CCS - Beckstoffer To Kalon" ... $599.00
100 points Jeb Dunnuck: Just pure gold, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard CCS is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from one of California's greatest terroirs, that was brought up in 100% new French oak. This dense purple-colored effort has a magical bouquet of pure crème de cassis, smoke tobacco, white flowers, crushed stone, truffle, and hints of chocolate. Possessing full-bodied richness, this beauty builds incrementally on the palate, showing lots of ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and a rare mix of power, structure, and elegance that's something to behold. Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, or red wine for that matter, just doesn't get any better. Hats off to winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown for yet another majestic, singular wine that’s as good as it gets.   97 points Wine Advocate: Schrader’s CCS comes from Beckstoffer’s To Kalon vineyard in Oakville, produced from clone 4 grown on the C1 block. It is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in 100% new Darnajou and Taransaud French oak barrels for 18 months. Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon CCS Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard rolls effortlessly out of the glass with profound notions of baked plums, boysenberries, blackberry pie and cassis, leading to hints of mocha, tapenade and black truffles. Full-bodied, concentrated and with a rock-solid backbone of grainy tannins, it delivers muscular black fruit and savory flavors, leading to a long, earthy finish. 97 points Wine Spectator:  Vivid, with lush cassis, plum and boysenberry compote flavors rolling through, carried by substantial structure that pulls in warm earth, sweet tobacco, licorice root and sweet bay leaf notes. A violet echo weaves through on the finish as the fruit and earth notes meld. This is Oakville.  96 points James Suckling: Fruity and relatively elegant. Toasted notes, nuts and vanilla, as well as blackberries. The palate is well balanced and velvety with subtle power. Full and flavorful. Finishes a tiny bit short, but should open with time.

99 Points,  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate  Wine Blend : 95% Cabernet Sauvignon 5% Petit Verdot Wine: The most sought-after wine in our portfolio, this limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon represents the pinnacle of Chappellet winemaking and embodies the elegant power and complexity of Pritchard Hill winegrowing. Like the great Bordeaux wines that first inspired Donn Chappellet, this wine is crafted by blending Cabernet Sauvignon with other classic Bordeaux varietals. The wine was aged for 22 months in 100 percent new French oak. Grown on our rocky, mountainside vineyard, our Cabernets have consistently displayed an ability to age for several decades. Tasting notes : Embodying the essence of great mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and the majestic terroir or Pritchard Hill, this wine is gloriously opulent and elegant, immediately demanding attention with aromas of violet, black currant, cassis, ripe blackberry, graphite and sweet smoke. As it opens up, fascinating layers of sandalwood and cardamom emerge, as well as hints of vanilla bean, nutmeg, dark chocolate and anise. 1993 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve, Napa Valley
VintageDP 1993 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Caber... $269.00
FREE shipping. Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1993 Cabernet Sauvignon is presently in a dormant stage of development. The wine's dark ruby/purple color is followed by aromas of sweet, earthy, blackcurrants, but it then retreats into a shell. Full-bodied, but noticeably tannic, it possesses the extract and fruit to balance out the tannin, but it is currently closed and in need of 1-3 years of cellaring. This is a candidate for 15-20 years of aging. As I have said before, the Cabernet Sauvignons produced at Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyard represent a synthesis in style between the extravagant ripeness so frequently achieved in top California vintages, and the more elegant, restrained style produced in Bordeaux. Recent vintages are all consistently good. Admittedly, I saw the wine immediately after bottling (no fining or filtration take place at Conn Valley), but the wine tasted reticent, although impressive, and possibly meriting an outstanding score. Food suggestion : Beef and venison.

Flat $14.9 Shpping . In this vintage, we decided to pick these teinturiers along with the Zinfandel for cofermentation.  Bottled unfined and unfiltered.  A very exciting new vineyard designate. Tasting Notes: Deep ruby-purple.  Bordering on opaque.  An intoxicating nose of black raspberry and licorice allsorts is complemented by notes of blood orange and violet.  On the palate, an explosion of black raspberry fruit. Suave and harmonious tannins build through the long, spice-laden finish.  Like so many of our 2011s, there is great purity, freshness, and precision in this wine.  Optimum drinking for this beauty should be from late 2014 through the end of 2023.
2008 Coach Insignia Cabernet Sauvignon Fisher Vineyards Napa Valley
Joseph Phelps 2008 Coach Insignia Cabernet Sauvignon Fish... $289.00
WINEMAKER NOTES:The Coach Insignia honors our family's tradition of craftsmanship, first represented in fine automobiles of the 20th century with Body by Fisher and now in Fisher Vineyards' wines of the 21st century. The Coach Insignia Cabernet represents the pinnacle of our winemaking craft, comprised of the finest selected lots of Bordeaux varietals from our Napa Valley Estate RP(92p): The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Coach Insignia is a gorgeous, refined wine laced with expressive red fruit, flowers, mint and licorice. The elegant, feminine side of Cabernet comes through, along with a hint of mocha and spice from the presence of 8% Cabernet Franc in the blend. Hints of sweet herbs and licorice reappear on the finish. Today the 2008 looks to be a fairly early-maturing wine, but I don’t think that will be much of an issue based on how delicious it is.
