Meursault 2022 Claude Leblanc Burgundy

Classic Meursault Chardonnay with richness and cut. Bright green gold in youth, deepening toward bronze with age. Aromas of ripe grape, toasted almond, mayflower, elder, lime blossom, verbena, and flinty minerality. Butter, honey, and citrus appear with air. The palate is generous and silky with a fresh, long finish and a signature hint of hazelnut. Built to improve in bottle.

Vineyard and Vinification
• Appellation: Meursault
• Grape: 100% Chardonnay
• Vintage: 2022
• Fermentation and aging: Alcoholic and malolactic in oak barrels with indigenous yeasts, about 12 months total, roughly 35% new
• Élevage: On lees until the next harvest, then racked, assembled, and rested in vat before bottling
• Serving temperature: 9 to 12 °C
• Best window: 2 to 5 years from vintage

Tasting Profile
Ripe stone fruit and citrus with almond, honey, and flint. Creamy mid palate balanced by lively acidity. Long, structured, and refined.

Food Pairings
Noble fish or white meats, veal or poultry in white sauce, grilled lobster or prawns, and characterful cheeses. Also excellent with foie gras.

Site and Soils
Côte de Beaune village where Chardonnay excels. East to south exposures around 260 meters. Jurassic marls and marly limestone with patches of magnesian limestone give both volume and tension.

Quick Take
Textbook Meursault. Plush texture, nutty depth, and mineral drive with a long, elegant finish.
