Winemaker Notes: With richness and depth of flavor, the 2018 Timeless Napa Valley is the embodiment of patience and attention to detail. Decades of experience at Soda Canyon Ranch allow winemaker Nate Weis and team to highlight the individual merits of each block. Combining the strongest lots from each resulted in a refined and harmonious bottling. In 2018, the diurnal shift at Soda Canyon Ranch produced a darker, lusher fruit profile of Cabernet Sauvignon. Simultaneously, the overnight recovery periods resulted in expressive and refined Merlot, giving the wine a pleasant profile of bright, red fruit. With an extended harvest window, the signature, plush density and structure of Petit Verdot is also prevalent in the final blend. Cabernet Franc thrived in 2018 with its predilection for the cooler soils and the climate of blocks 5, 6, 16, 20 and 21—areas we call the Transition Zone and Hardpan Alley. The variety’s floral and tobacco-like aromatics are accentuated, and its more aggressive nature for back-end tannins tamed. Once blended, the 2018 vintage rested in French oak barrels for 16 months, developing flavors of vanilla and baking spice. Velvety tannins dance across the palate of bright and lingering cassis. With a smooth finish, this is a comforting wine of elegance and depth—a sophisticated expression of the sedate summer VINTAGE DESCRIPTION :In vintages of abundance, the beauty at Soda Canyon Ranch never ceases to astonish. Steady winter rains quenched the hillsides through the end of May. An impressive fruit set was the result of mild temperatures and ideal conditions through the spring, and long, warm summer days followed by cool evenings helped develop a balanced crop load. A leisurely season was met with calm anticipation as we waited patiently for the fruit to develop. Then, all at once, we quickly and diligently picked the remarkable bounty of vibrant and intense fruit, confirming that 2018 would long be remembered as a vintage of exceptional quality. James Suckling 93 points This is a little old-school and shows lots of dark berry, chocolate and dried fruit. It’s full, dense and layered with fleshly sensibility.

Southern Tuscany highest DOCG appellation - a little brother of famous BRUNELLO.  Red blend of Sangiovese(90%), known there as Morellino and a little of other red grapes -CabSauvignin, Merlot, Syrah - is produced in the rolling coastal hills around the medieval village of Scansano and its volcanic soils.  Brilliant and ruby red, intense. Very elegant bouquet with typical Sangiovese sensations. The incipit on the nose is of red fruits as redcurrant and wild strawberry . Mouthfilling. Perfect combination of spices and violet hints. Fresh and crisp , pleasantly silky, harmonic and persistent with a long finish. Aged up to 18 months in  barrique, 13,00% vol. AWARD :95 PINTS, I MIGLIORI VINI ITALIANI - LUCA MARONI The Morellino name is a diminutive form of morello, and so translates as "little dark one". This etymology is almost identical to another of Sangiovese's many synonyms, Brunello. A few sources suggest that morello refers to a breed of horse unique to this part of Tuscany. Scansano's viticultural origins date back to Etruscan times, and the quality of the local wines has been documented for centuries.

(JL -2002).  The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for Provenance Vineyards come from the renowned Rutherford sub-appellation of Napa Valley, California. These grapes are grown by respected grower Andy Beckstoffer in classic Rutherford soil, which has excellent drainage and protection from the drying wind. Like the great Bordeaux wines that first inspired Donn Chappellet, this wine is crafted by blending Cabernet Sauvignon with other classic Bordeaux varietals. The wine was aged for 22 months in 100 percent new French oak. Grown on our rocky, mountainside vineyard, our Cabernets have consistently displayed an ability to age for several decades. Tasting notes : Embodying the essence of great mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon and the majestic terroir or Pritchard Hill, this wine is gloriously opulent and elegant, immediately demanding attention with aromas of violet, black currant, cassis, ripe blackberry, graphite and sweet smoke. Red Bordeaux blend. "This special project of the Bordeaux negociant, Bordeaux Millesimes (called Once Upon a Wine), and its proprietor, Dominique Renard, was originally labeled “The Winemakers’ Collection, Episode 1," but the name had to be changed. As I wrote last year, in each vintage, one of the world’s greatest winemakers (Michel Rolland in 2005 and Denis Dubordieu in 2006) is chosen to focus on a single parcel of a given terroir, in this case, Chateau d’Arsac. Five-thousand cases will be produced in 2005, and everything, including viticulture, fermentation, upbringing, and bottling, is being controlled by the chosen winemaker who has full control over the winemaking team, the yields, the choice of fermenters, the style and type of barrels, the time in oak, and the manner in which the wine is bottled. Michel Rolland was fortunate to be chosen in 2005 as this is an exceptional vintage. It boasts classic richness, deep, smoky, black currant and sweet cherry fruit, a gorgeously opulent texture, decent acidity, high but sweet tannin, and a seamless, full-throttle mouthfeel.
