2021 Brunello: Fragrant, Refined, Built on Tension

2021 was the second-driest season Montalcino has seen in 30 years. An April frost cut yields, temperatures stayed close to normal with no heat spikes, and September brought a calm, dry harvest. The Consorzio's blind tasting panel summed the vintage up in three words: fragrant, refined, slender. Lifted aromatics, fresh acidity, and tannins that are already soft enough to enjoy now, with enough backbone in the best bottles to age 10-15 years.

Tasting Notes

Deep ruby. Cherry, chocolate, and Tuscan herbs on the nose. Full-bodied with silky tannins and a long finish. Powerful without being heavy.
