I found this wine too stringent. The tannins overwhelmed the rest of the taste profile, such that it was hard to taste anything else. The age didn’t do much to mellow that, instead it gave the wine a distinctly prune-like character reminiscent of port. I did not taste the black cherry, blueberry and spice flavors advertised. I did appreciate the full mouthfeel. For those drinking, I suggest decanting extensively. You may find the wine becomes a bit more pleasant the next day or two.
