Production area: Bolgheri, Toscana region, provinces of Livorno, Italy. Bolgheri is a relatively young and most prestigious Italian Appelation. It is known mainly for deeply coloured, supple yet age worthy red wines, usually based on the Bordeaux grape varieties. A wine must also be aged for at least two years with a minimum of one year in oak barrels. And as each winemaker ultimately decides on their final ‘recipe,’ it makes for an enjoyable, and possibly decadent, way to discover what Super is. This is one of Camparo's most representative wines, as it is the most characteristic of the only village where it is produced - Diano d'Alba. Our Sori is Bric Camparo. Sori means a vineyard with the best exposure to the sun in the local Piedmontese region. This is one of the Langa's historic wines, so it goes wonderfully with our local dishes as well as others, such as tagliatelle with meat sauce, filled pastas, cold cuts, boiled meats, poultry and semi-hard cheeses. Diano d'Alba can be called the local farmer's wine. It used to be the most popular wine to drink with meals in the Langhe region. This etymology is almost identical to another of Sangiovese's many synonyms, Brunello. A few sources suggest that morello refers to a breed of horse unique to this part of Tuscany. Scansano's viticultural origins date back to Etruscan times, and the quality of the local wines has been documented for centuries.
