The 14-hectare vineyard of Chateau Jean Voisin is planted to 90%Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The vineyard is well placed in the northern part of the St. Emilion appellation. They have a terroir of sand and clay soil. On average, the vines are 25 years of age.
The wine of Chateau Jean Voisin is vinified in traditional, cement tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel. The wine is then aged in 30% new, French oak barrels for about 12 months before bottling. On average, the production is close to 6,000 cases of wine per vintage.
