Extremely limited. Only 1,500 bottles made. The 2009 vintage is widely considered the best Hurlo ever produced. Aged 9 years in 100 percent new French oak and built from the classical Amarone blend plus the estate’s secret fifth grape. One of the most distinctive high-end reds in Veneto.

Hurlo is one of the most original wines in Veneto. It is built from the four classical Amarone grapes plus a rare, undisclosed local variety that the producer keeps confidential.
The 2009 vintage is the pinnacle of the project. It spent 9 full years in brand-new small French oak barrels and was bottled in a micro-production of only 1,500 bottles. Many collectors consider it the greatest Hurlo ever released.

The Blend

A classical Amarone base
Plus a rare indigenous grape the estate does not reveal

Style

This wine is described by the producer as a meta Amarone. It sits above traditional categories and is created with complete artistic freedom rather than DOCG rules.
The result is a monumental red with layers of dark cherry, cocoa, incense, dried herbs, and polished cedar. The texture is dense, fluid, and almost sculptural. The wine carries both power and elegance and evolves in the glass for hours.

The Producer’s Vision

Hurlo is treated as a work of art. Each vintage is built from intuition and emotion, not from a fixed recipe or technical sheet. No two editions are intended to be the same. The wine expresses history, experimentation, and the freedom of the creator.

Why collectors want this wine

  • 9 years in new French oak

  • Very small production

  • A blend that cannot be imitated

  • A one-of-a-kind interpretation of Amarone

  • The 2009 release is considered the finest version

One of the most singular Italian reds I have ever tasted. If Amarone had a Grand Cru tier, this would sit at the top.
