A wine must also be aged for at least two years with a minimum of one year in oak barrels. And as each winemaker ultimately decides on their final ‘recipe,’ it makes for an enjoyable, and possibly decadent, way to discover what Super is. Grape variety: red Bordeaux blend - Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot , Petit Verdot. Southern Tuscany highest DOCG appellation - a little brother of famous BRUNELLO.  Red blend of Sangiovese(90%), known there as Morellino and a little of other red grapes -Cabrent, Merlot, Syrah - is produced in the rolling coastal hills around the medieval village of Scansano and its volcanic soils.  Brilliant and ruby red, intense. Very elegant bouquet with typical Sangiovese sensations. The incipit on the nose is of red fruits as redcurrant and wild strawberry . Mouthfilling. Perfect combination of spices and violet hints. This etymology is almost identical to another of Sangiovese's many synonyms, Brunello. A few sources suggest that morello refers to a breed of horse unique to this part of Tuscany. Scansano's viticultural origins date back to Etruscan times, and the quality of the local wines has been documented for centuries.
