Very nicely balanced Brunello. A little smoke on the front palate, and then it's all textbook. Licorice, brambly black fruit, tart cherry. Nice acidity at the finish. Hand-harvested in early October. Fruit is pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 35- 40 days during which full malolactic fermentation occurs. Aged for 24 months as regular Brunello Ridolfi and then another 8 months in large Slavonian oak barrels , after wine rest for additional 12 months in bottle. Grape: 100% Sangiovese Perfect to drink anytime between 2020–2024.

The wine is made from traditional Carmigiano grapes - Sangiovese, Cabernet and Canaiolo grow in the historic ancient Medici property known as "Barco Reale" - meaning Royal Property - which was established in 1626 that was a hunting preserve surrounded by walls over 30 miles long. Barco Reale is a younger version of Carmignano that received DOC status in 1994. It prodiced by the Nobil casa Contini Bonacossi  at Capezzana in Carmignano , Tuscani. Purplish dark and deep red with ruby red shades. On the nose, sweet, ample, elegant, very intense and fruity with light tones of oak. Soft, voluminous, ample with sweet tannins of medium density in good balance with the acidity. Fruity, long lasting finish. Alc: 13.5%

Late (middle of October) accurate  harvest of the grapes that must be healthy and ripe.         Production Area: the hilly areas of the municipality of Montalcino (Siena). Vinification: Pressed by natural gravity, long maceration of the peels for 15-20 days, to increase the structure and the power of Sangiovese and extract tannins and colour. To be able to tame the polyphenols present a careful processing with delicate repassing. Aging in Slavonian oak barrels for 36 months (24 months in barrique and 12 months in large oak barrels) and  1 year in bottles minimum.
