Variety: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah, & 7% Petit Verdot.Dark ruby colored Cab is very complex wine completely come together during such a long time of aging in bottle. It opens with a fragrant dried cranberry and spicy blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, smooth, and really coats your mouth. The flavor profile is a mild black currant with spicy blackberry and blueberry mixed in. There were notes of mild oak noted on the back palate as well. The finish is dry and its building tannins are rather pronounced and linger. intense and elegant flavors of the 2008 Paso Creek Cabernet Sauvignon would be ideal with hearty entree. Winemaker Notes: The fruit for our 2006 Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon comes primarily from mountain-grown fruit in Alexander Valley. With aromas of blackberry syrup, boysenberry, spicy black currant, espresso, and caramel, this wine delights with rich, delicious flavors of Bing cherry, chocolate, toffee, and anise. A delicious mid-palate, excellent depth and showy tannins characterize this lovely Cabernet Sauvignon. Our 2006 Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon pairs well with roasted, broiled or barbequed heavy game and red meats such as lamb, beef, pork and veal. Medium and strong-flavored cheeses, such as blue cheese or sharp cheddar.

 Winery: Our 2002 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon has a remarkably concentrated black and opaque hue. This is still an impressive wine, with aromas of spiced meats, raspberry compote, and a touch of hay. It has a massive attack and strong flavors of loose tobacco and cassis. It crescendos and builds momentum through the palate towards a long finish still framed by slightly chalky tannins. Given proper cellaring, this wine can be enjoyed now or will improve through 2030. Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.6% alcohol Wine Advocate: 90 Points The Alexander Valley cuvee is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in new oak. The 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley offers abundant quantities of spice, vanillin, cedar, herbs, and smoke, soft, round, creamy-textured flavors, good black cherry and currant notes, and a spicy, medium-bodied, easy-going personality.
